Description & Remarks

The plant was described in 1991 by Brullo et al from bulbs that collected in Israel and bloomed in containers in Sicily. For years we thought this are unusual plants that grew in non-natural conditions and that A; kollmannianum is not a good species. In 2007 Oz Golan found an unknown Allium near Beer-Sheva, blooming in late May. I have identified it as the missing Allium kollmannianum. Since then it was found in dozens of sites around Beer-Sheva, Arad and Dimona.
