Description & Remarks
Of the three Acacia species growing in the desert areas of Israel, A. pachyceras is the most cold-resistant. It occurs in high plateaux of the Negev, Sinai, and Jordan. Differing from the two other species its fruit looks like a horn (the meaning of its Latin name) and not coiled. It was first described from SW Saudi Arabia and has a much wider distribution than what was known when discovered first in Israel.
