Description & Remarks

Cytinus in Israel is C. ruber and not C. hypocistis as thought in the past. It is agreed that C. ruber has ivory-white to pale pinkish flowers, and parasitizes pink-flowered Cistus species (C. creticus in Israel), whilst the yellow flowered C. hypocistis parasitize white flowered Cistus, and Halimium and Helianthemum species.

C. de Vega et al, 2008.
