Description & Remarks
A rare, least known species of the inner sands of NE Sinai, its occurrence in the Negev (S Israel) is doubtful. It is characterized by toothed leaf axis and a non-tuberculate achene with longitudinal grooves. The achene tip is toothed-crowned, lacking an auricle. Due to its leaf and achene characters, we postulate that A. eliezrae is closer to A. philistea and A. leucanthemifolia, rather than to A. melampodina, as maintained by E. Eig and Z. Yavin.
