Description & Remarks
A rare species from Edomm and possbily Moav mountains in S Jordan. It was collected once on the mouth of Wadi Mujib on the E coast of the Dead Sea. It is characterized by woolly leaves (long curly hairs),non-inflated corolla tube base and curved tuberculate achenes with a short auricle.
Z. Yavin wrote in her PhD work on the genus that this species is realted to A. melampodina. But it seems that this species is related to Irano-Turanian species from the Syrian Desert and Iraq, as A. Eig wrote in 1938.
