Description & Remarks
A new record for the flora of Israel. Collected first at the beginning of May 2006 in an ornamental plot in Jerusalem. At the end of May 2006 collected again in a poorly managed flower bed in the industrial zone of Talpiot, Jerusalem. Its further distribution in Israel should be followed up. It is a perennial herbaceous plant with a lignified basis. When blooming the bracts become bright yellow. The fruit is wrinkled and the dark gray seeds are smooth with a white caruncle at their tops.
